General information about vape juice.
It consist of 4 ingredients. Propylene glycol (PG), Vegetable glycerin (VG), food grade flavor concentrate and nicotine. The 2 main ingredients are PG and VG.
What exactly is PG and VG?
PG is a clear, odorless liquid used by the chemical, food, and pharmaceutical industries as an antifreeze. It is commonly found in processed food as food additive.
VG is too a clear, odorless and sweet-tasting liquid derived from vegetable fats. It is added to food, cosmetics and pharmaceuticals and may offer health benefits, such as moisturized and resilient skin, relief from constipation, improved hydration and better physical performance.
Why is PG and VG used in vape juice?
PG will provide a throat hit that has similar sensation to smoking cigarette. This odorless clear liquid helps to hold the flavour and nicotine more effectively.
VG that is sweeter and thicker liquid compare to PG, provides a more smooth and more cloud vaping experience. Meaning less throat hit and more smoke when you exhale.
Different brands uses different PG/VG ratio for their vape juice formula. That is why you get different throat hit and sometimes you feel that why is there not much smoke. PG/VG ratio is one of the reason for such differences. The other factor is the device power that provide to the coil will determine how fast and smooth the heating up process. If its too strong, it may burn the coil with lower VG ratio as VG is a thicker liquid. Thus too strong of power will burn the coil or too little power will have a slower heating process.
